Job Description:

  • Main contact for guest at the hotel, handles reservations, incoming calls
  • Operate Choice Advantage computer system for all transactions and running of daily reports
  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms
  • Answer inquiries regarding hotel services and registration by letter, telephone, and in person and respond to guest complaints
  • Present statement of charges to departing guest and receive payment
  • Check guest accounts daily to ensure accuracy in the computerized system
  • Sell packages and provide proper information to guests
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with all other department
  • Comply with departmental and company standards and requirements
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by supervisor

Education & Qualifications:

  • Extremely knowledgeable with Sault Ste Marie and surrounding areas.
  • Previous front office experience an asset
  • Flexible and energetic with the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be polite, personable and service oriented
  • Detail oriented
  • Previous computer experience
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, a variety of shifts (am, pm and Night Audit)
  • Completion of program in Hotel Management/front desk operations and/or tourism and hospitality an asset
